Jamland has been my main creative endeavour and a labour of love over the past number of years. I am really excited about the film and am thrilled with the final product. Until this project, I never envisioned that I would be involved with the production and direction of a documentary film, but I am fortunate to have a teaching colleague who is an excellent visual artist and documentary filmmaker (Robert Waldeck from Drywal Media). When I was first approached by Rob to shoot some footage at Jamland, I said “sure” and didn’t really know what to expect. I don’t think he really did either. But we both agree that it has turned out better than imagined!
Thanks again to the the Region of Waterloo ARTS FUND for the generous financial support and to Drywal Media for the fantastic work they have done with this film.
And most importantly, thanks to the many friends who have helped with the creation of this film, both directly and indirectly. I very much look forward to the screening of this film in large part because it highlights the contributions and efforts of many talented friends.
